Providence Police investigating armed carjacking

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said detectives are investigating after an armed carjacking on Monday.

According to Providence police, officers responded to Atwells Avenue for a reported carjacking.

Reports show an unknown man entered the victim’s vehicle and exhibited a firearm, according to police.

Officers later found the stolen vehicle with nobody inside.

Providence police are investigating the incident.
