New Bedford Police arrest man in cocaine distribution operation, conclude investigation

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The New Bedford Police Department said it arrested a man in connection to an alleged cocaine distribution operation run out of a home on Court Street on April 30.
22-year-old Tyrell Thomas was charged with trafficking in 100 grams or more of cocaine, trafficking in 36 grams or more of fentanyl, and possession to distribute a class B drug.
According to New Bedford police, officers conducted a traffic stop on Thomas’s vehicle, and allegedly seized three plastic bags containing 72 grams of crack cocaine.
After obtaining a search warrant, police searched Thomas’s home on Court Street and allegedly seized 60.6 grams of crack cocaine, 50 grams of suspected fentanyl, oxycodone and Percocet tablets, an assortment of blue tablets, a digital scale, a 6 round .30 ammunition magazine, narcotics packaging, and $11,541.
Thomas was arrested and charged.
New Bedford police said with the arrest, the investigation into the cocaine distribution operation run out of the address on Court Street has been concluded.
