Fall River man arrested for alleged breaking and entering in Stoughton

STOUGHTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Stoughton Police Department said that a Fall River man was arrested in connection with an April break-in at a business.
40-year-old Mark Smith was charged with breaking and entering during the nighttime with intent to commit a felony, seven counts of identity fraud, and seven counts of credit card fraud.
Police said the break-in occurred at a business on Sharon Street on April 20.
Surveillance footage showed a suspect inside the restaurant at 3:32 a.m. and it was determined that a business credit card was stolen during the break-in.
Stoughton Police said that the credit card was used seven times at ATMs and businesses in Fall River, Seekonk and Swansea in Massachusetts, and East Providence and Tiverton in Rhode Island, and the transactions and withdrawals ranged from $32.33 to $544.87.
The department identified Smith as a possible suspect and he was taken into custody on May 7.
Police added that Smith was allegedly a former employee of the restaurant.
