A Friday soaker on the way
After a beautiful day today weather conditions are going to turn around for tomorrow as Low pressure makes its way across the region. For tonight, other than a couple evening showers around the northern portion of the state we’ll see mainly cloudy conditions along with some patchy fog and lows dropping to right around 50°.
Friday will be a much cooler day by far, compared to day especially. We’ll start the day with a a couple of light scattered showers, but by midday a round of heavier rain will be developing and that will continue throughout the afternoon with temperatures in the mid 50s. The rain looks become heavy at times (1/2 inch to 1 inch per hour rainfall rates) into the dinner hours along with possible thunderstorm activity. This would result in ponding of water in poor drainage areas and local street flooding.
Showers will linger Friday night into Saturday morning. Things look to start drying out Saturday afternoon and then clearing conditions coming in for Saturday night as High pressure builds into New England and that’s great timing for Mother’s Day! Sunday looks to be filled with sunshine and beautiful temperatures in the low 70s!
