Former Trooper Proctor topic of Karen Read retrial testimony

DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The Karen Read murder retrial continues Friday, following Thursday’s testimony from a Massachusetts State Police investigator in the case.

On Thursday, Sergeant Yuri Bukhenik testified about an interview with Karen Read.

He said Read did not remember seeing O’Keefe go inside the house at 34 Fairview Road in Canton.

Part of the defense theory is that O’Keefe was killed in the house.

Bukhenik supervised the now fired state trooper Michael Proctor, which was the focus of the cross examination.

Outside of court, Read spoke to the media, weighing in on whether she thinks Proctor will testify.

Read went on to say it is to be determined whether she’ll take the stand.

Bukhenik’s testimony is expected to continue Friday morning.
