Dashcam video shows moments bicyclist was hit by car in Pawtucket

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A bicyclist was badly hurt after being hit by a car Sunday in Pawtucket.

The Pawtucket Police Department said officers were called to the intersection of Central Avenue and Benefit Street around 7 p.m.

Dashcam video obtained by ABC 6 shows the moments before the crash, as the bicyclist rode across the intersection before being thrown into the air by the collision.

Officials said the man was taken to the hospital with “serious injuries” but is expected to survive.

The driver of the car stayed on scene, according to police, who said no criminal charges have been filed.

Sun glare is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
