Firefighters battle house fire in Barrington

Firefighters responded to a home on Knapton Street in Barrington on Monday.  (WLNE)

BARRINGTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Firefighters battled a house fire on Knapton Street in Barrington on Monday.

According to Captain Edward Owens, the flames were contained to an exterior wall of the home.

The homeowner called 911 and was able to get out of the house.

Nobody was injured.

Firefighters had to open up a rear wall to extinguish the flames, and the home is expected to be repairable.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

ABC6 News crews on scene reported seeing a fire truck and multiple firefighters on scene.
