Watching for thunderstorms midday tomorrow

We’ve got a bit of a summer-like feel for today and tomorrow with dewpoints in the low 60s making it feel a bit on the muggy side. Clouds this morning will give way to some sunshine for the afternoon with highs climbing into the mid-upper 70s away from the south coast. However, there may be a passing late day shower. The south coast will stay locked in with a lot of clouds today with readings in the upper 60s.

For tonight, the clouds and fog return with a shower around and that’s how our Saturday starts. However, by midday (primarily 10AM – 2PM) there looks to be a threat for strong to severe thunderstorms to move through. Any storms can produce brief heavy downpours along with the potential for damaging wind gusts in excess of 40 MPH and small hail. Later Saturday afternoon the clouds will break to some sun with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.

Sunday will bring more clouds with breaks of sun and a possible shower in the afternoon, but it will become less muggy while highs reach the low 70s. As we go into next week there’ll be a good deal of sunshine accompanied by a cooling trend.
