Providence night club temporarily closed after shooting

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said that a night club in the city was ordered to temporarily close for 72 hours after a shooting on May 17.

Police said that a man was brought to Rhode Island Hospital around 2 a.m. for a gunshot wound, which he said he sustained at the Passion Lounge.

The Board of Licenses then issued the emergency closure due to “public safety concerns.”

The incident is under investigation.
