RAYNHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The Raynham Fire and Police Departments worked together to extinguish a fire on Anthony Road on May 17.

Personnel responded to a home on the road around 1:30 p.m.

The police department said that Patrolman Michael Civale used a fire extinguisher from his cruiser to help fight the fire, which was coming from the garage.

Civale was later transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation and released.

The fire department was then able to contain the fire to the garage, and prevent damage to the main part of the home.

The three residents were not displaced, and there were no other injuries.

An investigation determined the fire was caused by the careless disposal of smoking materials.
