Feral cat found near Oliver Street in Dartmouth tests positive for rabies

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — Dartmouth Animal Control said a feral cat tested positive for rabies on Monday.

The cat is small and black with a white spot on his face and white feet.

It was found found wearing a flea collar near Oliver Street on May 16th.

Dartmouth Animal Control said anyone who has had contact with this cat between May 8 and May 16 is advised to contact the Massachusetts Department of Public Health at 617-983-6800 or their health care provider for a risk assessment.

Additionally, anyone who believes their pet had contact with this cat is asked to contact the Dartmouth Animal Control Officer at 508-910-1840.
