Rally planned to call for ending ICE Wyatt contract, give body cameras to correctional officers
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Community advocates and organizers will gather at the Rhode Island state house Thursday, hoping to push for criminal justice reforms.
Advocates said that this push for reforms is vital as this year’s legislative session nears its end.
They’re looking for several reforms, including ending ICE’s contract with the Wyatt Detention Center in Central Falls, body cameras for correctional staff, and solitary confinement reforms.
That rally is at 3 p.m. this afternoon.
