DCYF discloses death of 3-month-old

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families disclosed the death of a three-month-old on Thursday.

The department said the incident occurred on April 5 and determined the death was caused by maltreatment.

The Office of the Child Advocate has been notified.

DCYF said the child and their family were not involved with the department at the time of the incident, and that due to “confidentiality laws, DCYF is prohibited from sharing additional information.”
