Rhode Island state beach season starts Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of state beach season.

All state beaches, with the exception of Roger Wheeler State Beach, will be open Saturday through Labor Day, with full staffing, lifeguards, concessions and restrooms available.

Roger Wheeler’s late opening is due to an upgrade project.

It will open on June 14.
