Providence Police find missing 5-year-old
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said a missing 5-year-old was found near a school he attends on Hope Street.
That’s about two miles away from where the child was originally reported missing.
Providence police were seen searching an area of Brookway Road off Blackstone Boulevard for a missing 5-year-old boy around 5 p.m. Friday.

Providence police Chief Oscar Perez said detectives are still investigating the particular circumstances surrounding the case.
“When things like this happen we use technology, we use resources, we use all the departments, but more importantly we use the men and women of the Providence Police Department to ensure that we can get a resolution and a quick one,” Perez said. “Especially a 5-year-old is extremely dangerous to be out there by themselves.”
