Police release identity of man killed in hit-and-run crash in Wellfleet

WELLFLEET, Mass. (WLNE) — The Wellfleet Police Department has released the name of the man killed in a hit-and-run crash in Wellfleet on May 24.

24-year-old Timothy Duval, of Tallahassee, Florida, died after being struck by a vehicle on Ocean View Drive.

Police said Duval was an Army veteran, husband, and father of a 3-year-old son.

On May 24, police said Duval was on vacation with friends when he became separated from the group and began to walk down Ocean View Drive, where he was fatally struck.

Officers responded to the area around 11:30 p.m., and pronounced Duval dead at the scene.

The suspect vehicle was not at the scene when police arrived and was believed to have fled.

Police believe the suspect vehicle is a pickup truck or SUV.

Wellfleet police said the department is “actively following up on multiple leads,” but there have not been any arrests made.
