RIDOT to open up more lanes on I-95 north near Providence viaduct

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Department of Transportation Director Peter Alviti will update the media this morning about some roadwork in the Capital City.

Starting Friday, RIDOT will re-stripe the service road off of I-95 northbound, near the viaduct.

The department said by Saturday morning, drivers will see more lanes, and less congestion on the busy section of interstate.

Director Alviti’s press conference on the project is at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
