PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management announced it will distribute around 5,000 food benefit cards to seniors through their Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
Those cards will be pre-loaded with $50 and will be used for buying Rhode Island grown fruits, vegetables and even local honey.
Seniors can apply for the card at their senior center, or on RIDEM’s website.
The cards will be good from June 1 to November 30.
