BREWSTER, Mass. (WLNE) — A recent graduate from the University of Rhode Island has unexpectedly passed away from an anaphylactic reaction just days after graduating.

According to Dignity Memorial, Timothy “Timmy” Howard died on May 24 after a “severe anaphylactic reaction to peanuts.” He was only 22 years old.

On Instagram, URI’s Sports Media and Communication program said “our hearts are broken over the recent loss of our friend and colleague… and our love goes out to his family, friends, and cherished brothers of [Phi Kappa Psi].”

Instead of sending flowers, Timmy’s family asks for donations to be made to Food Allergy Research and Education or dogs in need at Sandy Paws Rescue. Additionally, they ask for anyone to consider fostering a dog from the rescue, in which the family said Timmy loved fostering dogs.
