Taste of Summer this Week

Starting off with space weather, on May 30, there was a coronal mass ejection (CME) that was strong enough to give us the chance of seeing the aurora borealis tonight and lesser each night through Tuesday. We are finally breaking free of the unsettled weather trend this week. As high pressure moves in to take charge, we will bring in the sunshine and rising temperatures this week. Starting with Monday, look for mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower-70s inland and in the mid-60s at the beaches. Tuesday will be fully sunny with highs in the upper-70s. On Wednesday it’s back to the eighties with wicked warm temperatures topping at 83 inland and the 70s along the coast. Thursday will be sunny and also the hottest day this week with temperatures in the upper-80s. A boost in humidity means the muggies entering the picture and making it will feel closer to 90. Friday will be mostly sunny, warm and humid with highs near 83. The high humidity continues into Saturday but a front coming through will bring clouds, showers, and cooler temps in the upper-70s. Sunday will also have a chance of showers and highs near 75.
