SOMERSET, Mass. (WLNE) — The Somerset Police Department said a man was arrested after officers responded to a report of a shot fired on June 1.

Marlik Anthony Cobe Booker was charged with three counts of possession of large capacity feeding devices, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling.

On June 1, a resident on O’Neil Road reported that a man at the house was “acting irrationally and was causing a serious disturbance” around 6:40 p.m., according to Somerset police.

During the response, police received a second call from a neighbor for a report of a shot fired.

Police arrived on scene and began to attempt to surround the home, when a man, later identified as Booker, exited the house through the side door and started to walk across the property.

Somerset police said a detective ordered him to stop walking and show his hands, which resulted in Booker allegedly swearing at police and shoving his hands in his pocket.

Officers then put Booker on the ground, removed his hands from his pockets, and placed him in handcuffs.

Inside one of Booker’s pockets, police allegedly found a loaded high capacity magazine.

After police discovered he did not have a license to possess a gun in Massachusetts, Booker was arrested.

Officers then entered the home to search for possible victims to investigate the report of a shot fired.

Two people were found uninjured, and a bullet hole was observed in a wall in a second floor bedroom, resulting in a request for a search warrant.

After receiving a search warrant, officers allegedly discovered 9mm handgun ammunition and magazines, as well as a fired and empty shell casing in the bedroom with the bullet hole.

Somerset police said the 9mm handgun was not found by police or a trained gun recovery K9.

Police later determined a woman fled the home before officer’s arrival, but did not receive any new information after speaking with her.

On Monday, Booker was held on $15,000 bail.
