Attleboro firefighters respond to crash involving ambulance

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The Attleboro Fire Department said crews responded to a crash involving an ambulance on Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the area of Pleasant Street at Emory Street around 1:11 p.m. for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving an ambulance.

According to the department, the ambulance was transporting an 8-year-old girl from Sturdy Memorial Hospital to Hasbro Children’s Hospital when it was struck by another vehicle.

Nobody inside the Brewster Ambulance was injured, but another unit was sent to the scene to transfer the child to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The scene was opened back up around 1:40 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
