Bill introduced to help Matunuck Oyster Bar partially reopen
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — At the state house an effort is underway to try and help the owner and employees of the Matunuck Oyster Bar, which was heavily damaged in a May fire.
Representative Carol McEntee and Senator Virginia Sosnowski have introduced a bill that would allow the restaurant to re-open on a limited basis in a temporary spot.
They’ll be allowed the parking lot across the street, so they can serve customers for 18 months or until the oyster bar is rebuilt.
They believe it would allow up to 50 employees to work during the busy summer season.
The house and senate bills will be heard tomorrow.
