Neronha joins lawsuit against Trump, ATF’s forced reset trigger distribution
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha is joining Massachusetts and several others states in suing the Trump administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Neronha, and more than a dozen other attorneys general, are looking to prevent the distribution of forced reset triggers, or FRTs.
An FRT is a machine gun device that allows guns to fire bullets at a faster rate.
The Trump administration and AFT plan to distribute thousands of FRTs across the country.
Neronha calls the move wildly reckless and warns it could fuel more gun violence.
