Woonsocket to flush hydrants starting Tuesday night
WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Woonsocket will be flushing fire hydrants in several areas of the city starting Tuesday night, according to a statement from Woonsocket Senior Water Foreman Jeff Corriveau.
The Woonsocket Water Division will begin the flushing at 9 p.m. Tuesday, finishing the process at 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Hydrants in the following areas will be flushed by the water division:
- Cranston Street from Carnation Street to Monty Avenue
- Fournier Street
- Park Avenue from Transit Street to Smithfield Road
- Mowry Street
- Providence Street from Piedmont Avenue to Fabien Street
- Transit Street from Park Avenue to Broad Street (including all area side streets)
The Woonsocket Water Division said that residents may notice discolored water and low water pressure.
If discolored water runs from your tap, run the cold water for a short time to clear the lines.
