South Kingstown Police say remains that washed ashore in Westerly have been identified

WESTERLY, R.I. (WLNE) — The South Kingstown police Department said that the remains that washed ashore in Westerly on May 14 were identified as human.

The department said the remains, which appeared to be a human leg bone, belonged to 31-year-old Eric Wein of Massachusetts.

Wein went missing on April 18, and his vehicle was found on Ocean Avenue in South Kingstown on April 10.

No foul play was suspected.
