Former naval center employee in court for alleged voicemail death threats to co-workers

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — A former employee at Middletown’s Naval Undersea Warfare Center will be arraigned Tuesday morning for allegedly making threats to former colleagues.

According to the Department of Justice, 38-year-old Luis Sanchez Pardella was charged in April for allegedly making a series of threats to at least eight of his former co-workers between July 2022 and 2023.

According to the DOJ, he left a voicemail telling one former coworker he would kill them and their wife.

Pardella faces one felony count of threat to a public official and he will be arraigned Tuesday morning in Newport County Superior Court.
