Striking Butler Hospital workers expected to respond to hospital contract proposal

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Striking union workers at Butler Hospital are expected to respond to the hospital’s proposal by 11 Thursday morning.

Negotiations between Butler’s management and union employees resumed Tuesday after a pause.

The latest proposal shared by the hospital’s management includes a four-year contract, lower paycheck deductions for medical coverage and a new starting wage for all new employees of $18.03.

Butler Hospital says they look forward to meeting with the union and quote, “The community, our patients and our dedicated caregivers deserve a resolution.”
