Newport ferry season kicks off from Fox Point in Providence Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Friday morning, Governor McKee will be heading down to Fox Point to mark the start of Newport ferry season.

McKee will be joined by department of transportation officials and representatives from Discover Newport for the start of the 10th season for the ferry.

One way tickets begin at $12, and $24 for a round trip.

The ferry will stop at Bristol, before docking in Newport.

The first ferry motors out at 9:30 am.
