13-year-old battling brain cancer to be sworn in as honorary member of Bristol Police Department

BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) — The James D. Rielly Foundation and the Bristol Police Department said that a 13-year-old battling brain and spinal cancer would be sworn in as an honorary member of the Bristol Police Department on Saturday.

Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel had previously been sworn in as an honorary member of the Secret Service under President Trump.

The ceremony will take place at Roger Williams University at 5:30 p.m.

DJ was welcomed to the state by motorcycle officers from multiple departments on June 20.
