Fire at 3-family home in Somerset

SOMERSET, Mass. (WLNE) — The Somerset Fire Department said it battled a fire at a three-family residence on June 20.

The department said that the fire on Lees River Avenue spread to the attic of the house due to its balloon frame construction.

Firefighters said they were able to knock down the majority of the fire quickly, but the home’s construction required extensive hot spot chasing.

There was moderate smoke, fire and water damage to the home.
