Attorney General’s Office launches informational website for Medicare Advantage patients

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter Neronha’s Office said that an informational webpage had been launched for Medicare Advantage patients ahead of possible coverage loss Brown University Health.

Due to current contract negotiations, Medicare Advantage patients may lose in-network coverage if Brown University Health and UnitedHealthcare do not come to an agreement by June 30.

The website features frequently asked questions for patients as well as updates on the negotiations.

“My office has recently received many inquiries from concerned Rhode Islanders about how this contract dispute will affect their coverage if a resolution is not reached between the parties,” Neronha said. “Affordable, accessible health care is foundational to our quality of life, and we hope this resource equips Rhode Islanders with the information they need, should they need it.”

The website can be reached here.
