Providence City Council says immigrant rights mailer to be sent to every household
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence City Council said that a “Know Your Rights” mailer with information on immigrant’s rights and resources would be sent to every household in the city.
The council said the mailer came as a reaction to ICE activity in the city.

The mailer would contain information in English and Spanish on how to interact with federal immigration enforcement agents, as well as community resources.
“By taking this unprecedented action to protect our immigrant communities, councilors are sending a clear message: every Providence resident has a right to lead a dignified life free from state-sponsored intimidation and terrorization,” the council said.
