Much Cooler Today
Scattered showers will linger through the day
Good morning!
A cold front passed through last night, and we are feeling the relief from the heat wave we had earlier this week! After reaching close to triple digits yesterday, we won’t make it out of the lower 70s today. This cold front does come with a few scattered showers this morning, and we will see this shower activity persist throughout the day. This afternoon, temperatures will be 10-20 degrees cooler and dew points 5-10 degrees lower than they were at their peak yesterday. Overnight tonight, showers will become more widespread.
Tomorrow is looking mostly dry aside from an isolated morning shower, with temperatures remaining mild – highs will be in the low 70s and upper 60s along the coast. The good news for this weekend is that temperatures will still be comfortable, but the not-so-good news is that we’ll once again have a wet weekend, with a chance for showers and storms on Saturday. I wouldn’t cancel plans just yet, but be sure to have a backup plan in place if you have outdoor plans Saturday afternoon. Sunday is much drier and a bit warmer, making it the pick of the weekend.
Temperatures will climb into the 80s once again for the beginning of next week.
A side note – this is my first day as the new morning meteorologist at ABC6! I’ll try to update my social media as frequently as I can with real-time weather updates, so be sure to follow me – you can find me on most platforms as @tylerhugheswx.
Have a great Thursday!
