Barrington to consider parting ways with school bus provider after two sexual assault allegations
BARRINGTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Barrington’s school committee held a special meeting to address multiple sexual assault allegations against a now former bus monitor.
That monitor was banned by the district, and put on leave by Ocean State Transit after two students said they were assaulted.
This week, committee members voted to remove the bus driver who the monitor worked with as well.
They also voted to hire an independent investigator and a mental health counselor for students.
The committee will meet again next week to explore replacing Ocean State Transit as its bus provider altogether.
