Three children rescued in Mass. after current pulls them from shallow water

GLOUCESTER, Mass. (WLNE) — Three children are recovering after they had to be rescued from the water near a North Shore beach.

According to officials in Gloucester, the 5- and 14-year-old girls, and 8-year-old boy were all swimming in shallow water when the current carried them away.

Luckily, they were spotted by a nearby boater, who got all the kids on board.

Firefighters treated all three children on scene.

Both of the girls had to be hospitalized as they are seriously hurt.
