Mild and Comfy Friday

Showers and a few storms possible for Saturday

Happy Friday!

High pressure stationed over the Gulf of Maine is keeping any showers at bay today, although we will still have plenty of clouds around. It will also be another mild one – high temperatures will be in the low 70s this afternoon, although wind out of the southwest will keep the South Coast in the 60s for most of the day. We will also likely see a few peeks of sunshine later on.

This evening will be cool and calm, but humidity will be on the increase – with dew points set to jump ten degrees or more overnight as a warm front begins to enter the region. This will also bring a some showers and maybe a few thunderstorms for the day tomorrow. The best chance for showers will be in the early-to-mid morning, drying out by midday and early afternoon. A second round of rain arrives late in the evening and this is what could bring a few rumbles of thunder overnight into Sunday. The good news is, these will be garden variety thunderstorms – nothing severe.

Sunday will be the pick of the weekend with partly cloudy skies, lower humidity, and temperatures approaching 80. Temperatures climb even higher for the beginning of next week, with highs reaching into the mid 80s. We have another chance for showers and storms in the forecast for Tuesday afternoon, as well.

Have a great weekend!
