Off-duty Bellingham officer charged with DUI after alleged parked car crash in Woonsocket

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — An off-duty Bellingham police officer is now facing DUI charges in Woonsocket.

According to Bellingham police, Sergeant Kevin Heenan was arrested Thursday morning after crashing into a parked car in Woonsocket.

He was also charged with carrying a gun, while drunk.

Bellingham’s police chief says as part of standard procedure, Sergeant Heenan was placed on leave while the case makes its way through the courts.
