Brooklyn man arrested in Richmond after alleged possession of large amount of marijuana

RICHMOND, R.I. (WLNE) — The Richmond Police Department said a Brooklyn man was arrested on June 26 for allegedly possessing more than one ounce of marijuana.
44-year-old Anthony Walker was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
Walker was taken into custody after he alleged took several large bags of marijuana that was scheduled for destruction by the Rhode Island Cannabis Control Commission.
He allegedly left the area of Mechanic Street in a U-Haul with the marijuana, and after he fled the box truck police located him using a K-9 unit.
The U-Haul was then searched and police allegedly found 250 pounds of marijuana and $2,000 cash.
Walker was on $20,000 surety bail.
