Pawtucket School Committee to discuss future of superintendent position in wake of Royal resignation
PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Tonight, the Pawtucket School Committee will meet to discuss who should take the helm of the school district.
Former superintendent Patricia Royal resigned earlier this month, and sued the city in March, saying she was racially discriminated against and harassed.
The school committee has denied those claims in a response to her civil suit.
Members must now decide whether they should hire an interim superintendent, or find a more long-term solution.
The special meeting will be Monday at 5:30 p.m.
