Demolition of Washington Bridge in the home stretch as crews look toward structure piers

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Tuesday marks the beginning of the remaining demolition of the Washington Bridge, particularly the piers that are still in the water.

Additionally, Tuesday night, preservation work will close two lanes on I-195 east and west from the Warren Avenue off-ramp to the Massachusetts line.

Overnight structural health monitoring will continue on the eastbound side of the bridge, closing select lanes through Wednesday night.

Work will be completed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
