United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plans no longer accepted at Brown University Hospitals
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Starting today, United Healthcare’s Medicare Advantage plans will no longer be accepted at four Brown University Health hospitals.
Those include group retiree plans.
However, patients under the “Dual Special Needs Plan” will have uninterrupted network access to Brown University Health hospitals.
Any other Medicare Advantage plan will no longer have coverage at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Miriam Hospital, Newport Hospital or
Rhode Island Hospital.
The end of the contract does not impact Brown University Health’s physicians.
Patients in the middle of treatment may qualify for continuity of care.
