PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien said that the full footage of the shooting of a man by a Pawtucket police officer would be released.

On June 8, Sebastian Yidina was shot by Officer Thomas Letourneau after he allegedly threatened himself and others with a plastic replica firearm.

Edited bodycam footage of the shooting was released on Wednesday.

Yidina was charged with disorderly conduct and felony assault, while Letourneau was put on leave as the Attorney General’s Office and Rhode Island State Police investigate the shooting.

Grebien’s full statement can be read below:

I believe in transparency and that is why I am pleased that the Pawtucket Police Department is in the process of releasing all body and security camera footage relevant to the June 8, 2025 officer involved shooting and arrest of Sebastian Yidana. An investigation into the incident is still being conducted by the Attorney General’s Office and the Rhode Island State Police, in consultation with the Pawtucket Police Department. I look forward to reviewing the final investigation findings.
