Nine-year-old Pawtucket boy dies after medical incident at Dartmouth beach
DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — A nine-year-old boy from Pawtucket has died after being found in medical distress Sunday at Jones Beach, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.
Dartmouth police and EMS responded to the call at the 66 John Street location at approximately 7:30 p.m. Sunday where they located bystanders performing CPR on the boy.
He was transported to Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford where he was pronounced deceased.
According to reports from the scene, the boy was swimming and left the water on his own and began to experience medical distress once he arrived at the beach.
The death is under investigation but does not appear suspicious at this time.
