Rhode Island State Police release DUI and crash numbers from holiday weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island State Police have released their 4th of July weekend statistics regarding DUI arrests, motor vehicle crashes and general traffic stops.

According to the statement from RISP Lt. Colonel Robert Creamer, 16 motorists were arrested for DUI over the holiday weekend.

30 motor vehicle crashes were investigated in that time and over 471 motor vehicle stops were conducted for traffic violations.
