RISP says woman seriously injured after crash in North Smithfield

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police said a Rhode Island woman was seriously injured after a multi-vehicle crash on Route 146 on Wednesday.

Police said a man from Vermont rear ended a woman from Rhode Island on Route 146 North near Route 146A around 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

She then lost control of her vehicle, drove off the road, and hit a tree.

She suffered “serious injuries” and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
