1 seriously injured after car crashed into pole in East Greenwich

EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) — The East Greenwich Firefighters Association IAFF L 3328 said a person was seriously injured after a crash Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to Frenchtown Road around 1 p.m. for reports of a car that crashed into a pole.

At the scene, firefighters found one person trapped inside the car.

Firefighters used the jaws of life to free the patient, who officials said had serious injuries.

They were taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
