Local cooling centers open doors in face of extreme heat
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — With the intense heat bearing down on Southern New England Wednesday, officials in Providence are opening cooling centers.
Residents can visit their community library or one of a series of shelters.
And across the river, East Providence has cooling centers for those who need it.
The East Providence Senior Center, the Weaver Library, and the Riverside Library will all be open today and tomorrow.
