Providence seeking public input on Consolidated Plan spending

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence city officials want to hear from residents on what investments should be made in the city over the next five years.

The public hearing is part of Providence’s Consolidated Plan draft for 2025 thru 2029.

The plan is a requirement from the department of housing and urban development, and will show how the city will invest federal funds accessed from block grants.

In a release, the city says its hoping to target affordable housing, addressing homelessness, and funding infrastructure, childcare and education.

Tonight’s public hearing will be at the Doorley Municipal Building on Westminster Street at 5 p.m.
