FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A former Kansas sheriff’s deputy will be in Fall River District Court Thursday morning, after surrendering to Massachusetts authorities on allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a Bay State child.
24-year-old Garrett Gayoso was arraigned in May on charges relating to child sexual assault material.
An investigation was launched by both Fall River and Cherokee County Sheriff’s office in Kansas.
Gayoso resigned from the department after he was placed on leave and turned himself in.
He was given $1,000 cash bail, although the prosecutor had requested $10,000.
His case returns to court at 9 a.m.
